Described by The Times as a charismatic virtuoso, Tabea Debus is constantly exploring the horizons of music for recorder and has performed widely in Europe, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and the USA.
Highlights include concerts at Wigmore Hall, Schleswig Holstein, Brecon Baroque, London and York Early Music Festivals, and collaborations with La Serenissima, The English Concert, English Chamber Orchestra, WDR Rundfunkchor, Rachel Podger, Iestyn Davies and Laurence Cummings.
After graduating from the RAM in 2017 ‘with distinction’ and the Principal’s Prize, Tabea was appointed Meaker Fellow for 2016-17.
Having been SJSS Young Artist (2015-16), Handel House Talent (2016-17) and 2016-18 CMF Artist, she was selected by YCAT in 2018. Winner of the 2nd hülsta woodwinds and 8th Johann Heinrich Schmelzer competitions, she has appeared on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and Early Music Show and released three solo albums, most recently XXIV Fantasie per il Flauto (TYXart, 2018).
Since 2017 she has taught recorder at Wells Cathedral and Millfield Schools, and takes workshops at the RAM.
