A versatile cellist, baroque cellist and viola da gamba player, Lea Rahel Bader has a busy performance schedule which takes her to festivals in Germany and around the world.
As a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician she has participated in numerous CD and radio recordings. She teaches baroque cello and basso continuo for low strings at the Berlin University of Arts. Her prizes at numerous competitions include a special award at the 18th Leipzig Bach Competition in 2012.
Having completed her modern cello degree at the University of Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Hans-Jakob Eschenburg and Stephan Forck, Lea Rahel Bader continued her studies with Kristin von der Goltz (baroque cello) and Heidi Gröger (viola da gamba) at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. In addition, she attended masterclasses with Claudio Bohórquez, Peter Bruns, Phoebe Carrai, David Watkin, Paolo Pandolfo and Jaap ter Linden and others.
