Johannes Lang is an active recitalist on the organ, harpsichord and piano, and has been cantor at the Friedenskirche in Potsdam since October 2016.
A multiple award winner, Johannes won first prize at the 18th International Bach Competition in Leipzig (2012) as well as in the organ competitions in Bellelay (2011) and Lübeck (2009). He received the audience award at the ARD International Music Competition 2011 in Munich, and also won eleven first prizes at the German national Jugend musiziert competition.
Johannes studied organ with Prof. Martin Schmeding and harpsichord with Prof. Dr. Robert Hill at the Freiburg Academy of Music, completing his artist diploma on the organ with distinction in 2016. A scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, his studies have been generously supported by the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.
He was appointed adjudicator in the 2012 Jugend musiziert competition, has appeared on various radio and CD productions, and released his latest solo disc Bach and B-A-C-H in 2014.
